| ![]() At eighteen I knew I was a tropical creature and discovered the Virgin Islands. I endured (yeah, right!) two years of dancing to reggae, riding my horse and exploring the beaches and islands. I also wrote, created art, assisted two veterinarians and helped out at the humane society. I hail from from Michigan, but am partial to the tropical climes, and spend much time in Belize, Africa & the South Pacific where I performed my first solo concert. I returned to Michigan and after a while enrolled in courses to become a veterinarian myself. Time flew as I delved into writing, singing and acting. I worked with the Goodtime Players, a children's theatre group, performed with the Comic Opera Guild and at the Civic Theatre. I did drafting for the Space Physics Research Laboratory, and worked on a cancer research project at Michigan State University. |
I love all the seasons but dressing up and play-acting is great fun so I'd have to say October is one of my favorite months. I'm not your average girly-girl type at all. I love bugs, birds and animals of all types. . ![]() All through my vet study years the urge to perform always lurked not far beneath the surface. This impulse sometimes reared its devious head by performing impromptu skits during clinical rounds. Like that time I decided to demonstrate how the neutrophils migrated through blood vessel walls into interstitial spaces, or when I crashed the Senior Awards Banquet to present my own gifts to the faculty. I actually dressed one professor in a tutu, (What a good sport!) Not to mention my stint as emcee for the vet school talent show. During the summer breaks I traveled to Africa. |
| Meredith preparing for surgery On my return to the U.S., I enrolled at California State University Long Beach. I earned a Master's degree in music, with emphasis on vocal performance. I sang as often as I could. At the University and Chamber choirs, then concert tours to China and Europe, an opera program took me to Rome the summer of 2005. My vocals can be heard on the soundtracks of two student films, and My Christmas CD, Enchanted Christmas is available now and I'm just putting the final touches on my new CD, Horizons. |
