"Horizons"

An elegant, enigmatic word taking on a life of its own

The apparent union of the sea and sky, really just an idea made visual and given meaning by the observer - the sea and sky don't actually meet but we breathe life into the idea by giving it a name. "Horizons" also means a range of knowledge, experience and interest; ideas called into being by a person's unique perspective, in this case a collection of beloved music. I love the concept of ideas made real by giving them names, speaking them aloud and allowing the music to be cloaked in emotion and expression. The nostalgia of Souvenirs and Memory, the joyous heart of Let the River Run, the bittersweet On My Own and Spring will be a Little Late this Year, the introspective and the romantic Amor di mi Alma - Love of my Soul, all delve into our inner horizons and come to life by speaking and singing the words aloud.

"Enchanted Christmas"    Music for the Season

Rebecca McGraw and Meredith Kennedy grew up in Michigan, and we remember Christmas carols always ushering in the magical Christmas season. December snowfalls, hot cocoa, heavenly aromas from the kitchen, decorating the Christmas tree, stockings hung by the chimney with care--the gift of music brought the whole holiday season to life. Meredith and Rebecca have compiled their favorite Christmas carols in order to pay homage to cherished childhood memories. Traditional favorites are sung in harmony, as well as some less well-known songs like the ethereal and beautiful "O Nata Lux," and the magnificent "Sing Noel." Everyone will enjoy this elegant collection of Christmas music.

Learn more about the New World Concert

"New World Concert"      Soprano, Piano & African Drums!

You may think that this innovated new genre would sound a little strange, but the combination certainly works well with Meredith Kennedy at the microphone. Her powerful, yet sweet melodic voice compliments the background expertise of the Foré Afrique drummers to the delight of the audience. Her usual Cabaret style would have been enough to make the concert well worthwhile attending, but the Belizean Creole traditional drumming added a glowing touch of local flavour.
Meredith performed solo, with the Foré Afrique drummers, and harmonized with her own pre-recorded voice such tunes as: The New World, Don't let the Sun go Down on Me, Blackbird, Living for the City, and African traditional & folk songs from Guinea, the Ivory Coast & Mali. She also included a mini-opera from Phantom of the Opera complete with pre-recorded vocals by Professor Jonathan Talberg as 'the Phantom.'
Meredith, Emmeth Young & Matt Miller collaborated the idea of bringing drums into the venue. When Meredith isn't singing, you might find her caring for animals or even operating on one. She's also a veterinarian and her love of animals prompted the idea of a benefit concert for The Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
