You may think that this innovated new genre would sound a little strange, but the combination certainly works well with Meredith Kennedy at the microphone. Her powerful, yet sweet melodic voice compliments the background expertise of the Foré Afrique drummers to the delight of the audience. Her usual Cabaret style would have been enough to make the concert well worthwhile attending, but the Belizean Creole traditional drumming added a glowing touch of local flavour.Meredith performed solo, with the Foré Afrique drummers, and harmonized with her own pre-recorded voice such tunes as: The New World, Don't let the Sun go Down on Me, Blackbird, Living for the City, and African traditional & folk songs from Guinea, the Ivory Coast & Mali. She also included a mini-opera from Phantom of the Opera complete with pre-recorded vocals by Professor Jonathan Talberg as 'the Phantom.'
Meredith, Emmeth Young & Matt Miller collaborated the idea of bringing drums into the venue. When Meredith isn't singing, you might find her caring for animals or even operating on one. She's also a veterinarian and her love of animals prompted the idea of a benefit concert for The Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary which is run by her friend Matt.
